About Me
I am a Graduate from The National Holistic Institute and certified in various modalities of massage and associated sciences. I am always continuing to broaden my current expertise and knowledge in the field of massage therapy. I have been practicing the art of massage therapy for about 10 years in a variety of settings; including triathlons, cycling events, destination spa retreats, fitness gyms & community centers. I have a passion for learning the healing arts and an Intuitive drive that has lead me to a fulfilling career as a Massage Therapist.
On my own quest for wellness, I have discovered a natural understanding of the body's integrative structure and how daily activity impacts everybody's health and wellness in different ways. With the use of subtle body assessment strategies and my own intuition, I hope to help each and every client reach their personal best.

What is Trigger Point Therapy?
Trigger point therapy is a technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction in other parts of the body. The term "trigger point" is under constant trademark battles with in the healing community. Trigger points are areas of tenderness in a muscle. There are two basic types of trigger points: active and latent. Active trigger points cause muscular pain and will refer pain and tenderness to another area of the body when pressure is applied. Latent trigger points only exhibit pain when compressed, they do not refer pain to other areas of the body. Latent trigger points are believed to be one of the causes of stiff joints and restricted range of motion of old age. The pain caused by trigger points may be the biggest cause of disability and loss of time in the workplace. Trigger point therapy is almost always integrated with other massage modalities. Muscles will be warmed up for several minutes before attempting any type of trigger point. Trigger point can be painful, but most people describe it as a "good pain". Clients are told that on a scale of 1-10, the pain should never be more than a 7.

Modality List
Sports massage: A combo of swedish and shiatsu modalities paired with other myofascial therapy techniques in a result oriented session. These sessions are typically shorter in length, but consist of a variety of stretches and fascial release techniques to offset the less than positive consequences of an active (or sedentary) lifestyle. Reposturing therapy services can include the use of weights, vibration and other equipment to realign a body's natural posture.
Swedish Massage: Known for it's smooth, gliding strokes. The pressure used can range from light to firm. Deep tissue uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish Massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. Deep tissue is usually done very slowly. Deep tissue does not have to be painful. Some may feel some discomfort, but with good communication, it can be an effective treatment without being very painful.

Shiatsu & Thai: In eastern medicine, pressure with thumbs, hands, elbows, knees or feet is applied to pressure points on the body. This form of massage also focuses on rotating and stretching limbs, joints, and is considered a pillar of traditional Chinese medicine. Thai massage is a slow and meaningful art. This modality incorporates breathing with deep stretches to relax and repose the body. Sessions are integrated for either a massage table or chair in a clothed setting.
